What we collect
- Account and contact details you or your landlord enter: names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses.
- Property and lease information: addresses, units, lease terms, charges, payments, maintenance requests, messages and documents your landlord keeps in Tenant Yield.
- Payment information when you pay online: the last four digits and brand of a card or bank account, and payment history. Full card and bank account numbers are collected and held by Stripe, not by Tenant Yield.
- Prospect information you give on a listing's application page: the answers to the landlord's questions.
- Technical information: sign-in times, the address and browser a request came from, and error reports, used to keep the service secure and working.
Why we use it
To run the service for the landlord's account; to process and record payments; to send the emails the service sends (invitations, receipts, reminders, request updates, messages); to keep accounts secure; and to comply with law.
Who sees it
- Your landlord and their team, within the roles they set.
- Stripe, for payments and for the landlord's payout account.
- Service providers that host and send for us (hosting, database, email delivery), bound to use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it or you ask us to.
We do not sell personal information.
Where it lives and how long
Data is stored with our hosting providers in the United States. A landlord's records are kept while their account is open and for the period their books and tax records require afterward; a tenant's portal access ends when their lease ends, but the lease's records remain with the landlord.
Your choices
You can see and export the records the service holds about your lease from the portal or the app. Landlords can close their account from Settings. For any other request about your information, write to accounts@tenantyield.com. [to be completed by counsel]
Security
Every account's data is kept separate from every other account's at the database level; access is limited by role; connections are encrypted; and payment credentials are held by Stripe.

We will post changes here and update the version and date at the top.
